It’s been said a hundred times before, the pandemic has wildly changed the landscape of public engagement, and it’s essential to accept that it will never go back to the way it was. Over the course of this pandemic, we’ve changed how we do things with new expectations for how and when people engage and what’s available to them when they do.

Pre-pandemic, everyone expected the one-evening event and maybe the one-weekend event. But now we’re in a space where the time of day, time zone and date for events almost don’t matter because online events have increased the ability to participate.

But people ARE going to want to participate in-person AND they are going to want to participate online. It’s time to get AGILE and create hybrid engagement opportunities!

Designing Hybrid Public Engagement Events is similar to stand alone in-person or online, however a number of key considerations and accommodations are needed for meaningful events that deliver results and create connection between participants.

This half day session participants can expect to:

  • Learn the 8 key elements for effective event design
  • Walk away with an event design template to use at for your very next event
  • Understand the 5 principles to successfully integrate online and in-person events
  • Receive a checklist and template for your future Hybrid Events

Trainer: Kim Hyshka, CP3

Kim Hyshka, CP3 is a believer that just about anything is possible with a little dialogue. She’s on a mission, to chart a different course for public conversations, better conversations that open possibility, cultivate collaboration and spark change through dialogue. With over 10 years working in the field of engagement, she has developed a passion for designing and facilitating conversations that matter and creating engagement experiences where participants feel valued, relationships are built and initiatives and projects move forward. You’ll find her in the midst of both large and small-scale projects, bringing experience facilitating community forums in large urban centers or walking pipelines with Elders in the remote wilderness.
