Inclusion and Digital Tools: Planning for Intersectionality in Online Engagement

Participants in public participation (P2) possess various interconnected social identities, and recognizing this complexity can enhance the design of digital engagement strategies. Discover how leaders in engagement are incorporating an intersectional perspective into their approach to digital engagement, spanning content creation, formats, analysis, and beyond.

About your presenter:

Susanna Haas Lyons, M.A., is a public engagement specialist who develops strategy and provides training for better conversations between the public and decision-makers. She has 20+ years of international leadership experience in designing, facilitating, managing, and evaluating complex civic engagement efforts. 

Susanna is an instructor with the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) as well as a post-secondary instructor for Simon Fraser University’s Dialogue and Civic Engagement certificate program. She teaches about deliberative dialogue, digital engagement, large-scale engagement, and more.
