Two Engagement Coordinator positions are available. One position is a regular, benefited position, and one is temporary (term-limited) and filled up to three-years from date of hire. The temporary position will focus on capital improvement projects in progress. The Engagement Coordinator is a dynamic and strategic member of the Communications Division. This position strengthens the connection between the City, its residents, and its elected leaders. This position plays a key role in supporting City Council engagement and advancing community involvement in infrastructure and construction projects. Under the direction of the Organizational Communications Supervisor, this role supports transparent communication, inclusive public engagement, and culturally responsive outreach aligned with City values. It plans and manages public events for City Council, administers the Access Westminster customer service portal, and designs engagement strategies for capital projects following IAP2 best practices. The role also collaborates with internal teams on strategic communications, manages Council inquiries and public feedback, and coordinates Council outreach and community appearances. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, critical thinker, and skilled communicator with experience working in both civic and infrastructure engagement settings. The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate. The City of Westminster has a Multilingual Stipend Program to encourage, and reward benefited employees who are conversationally fluent in languages other than English. Benefited employees have the opportunity to test their language proficiency skills and qualify for a bi-weekly stipend that will vary based on the employee’s level of proficiency and usage.
